Code Enforcement

Effective June 2023, all public reports of code enforcement violations in the city should be directed by phone to the Bella Vista Police Department’s non-emergency number at 479-855-3771.

The City of Bella Vista Code Enforcement Division is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe and desirable living and working environment throughout the city.

Code Enforcement officers have, by state law, authority to define and abate nuisances within the city. These officers enforce both state and local laws (city ordinances) to correct violations and hazards that affect the safety and quality of life of residents and guests, and they have the authority to issue legal citations if property owners fail to comply.

The most common violations in our city include parking in the yard or on the street overnight, unsightly conditions, signs placement or size violations, building without a permit, trash service violations, and illegal dumping.

The Code Enforcement Division is NOT responsible for enforcing civil matters between neighbors or criminal acts committed that don’t fall within the adopted municipal code.

Report code violations by phone to the city's non-emergency police department phone number at 479-855-3771. While each call received will be logged and documented and then dispatched to appropriate personnel, callers are able to remain anonymous when reporting violations.
