bike officerThe Bella Vista Police Department was established in 2007 following the city's incorporation earlier that year. Prior to that, the department functioned as a satellite office for the Benton County Sheriff’s Office for 26 years. Today, the department is staffed by sworn officers and civilian employees, who provide police services, animal control and emergency dispatch services for police, fire, and ambulance citywide.

The Bella Vista Police Department is comprised of three divisions: Patrol, Criminal Investigations and Communications. Officers also serve on a variety of specialty teams, such as Bike Patrol, K9 Units and SWAT.
