Planning Commission

The Planning Commission serves to review and approve development proposals for compliance to city codes such as Large Scale Developments, Incidental Subdivisions, Preliminary Plats, Final Plats, Waiver Requests, and Conditional Use Permits.  The commissioners vote to make recommendations to the City Council for rezoning applications and on long-range, city-wide plans. As of 2021, the Planning Commission also serves as the City's Board of Zoning Adjustment where they consider variances from the Zoning Code (Chapter 109). 

The commission consists of seven members who serve four-year terms. They are appointed by the City Council and must reside in city limits.

MEETINGS
The Planning Commission meets for a Regular Meeting on the 2nd Monday of every month at 4:30 pm at the Bella Vista District Court (2483 Forest Hills Blvd.) unless otherwise depicted on the agenda. The public is highly encouraged to attend all Planning Commission meetings, including the Work Sessions as shown on the development calendar.
